Tradescantia

Tradescantia is a genus within the Commelinaceae family with 85 species of flowering plants. They grow as 30 – 60 cm solitary specimens or in lush clusters, thriving in various habitats, including shaded wooded areas and open fields. These resilient plants are native to the Americas, from southern Canada to northern Argentina, including the West Indies. Commonly known by various names such as inch plant, wandering jew, spiderwort, or dayflower, these plants are popular in gardens and indoor settings for their attractive foliage and ease of care.
