Description
Echinocereus pentalophus subsp. procumbens is a low-growing, mat-forming cactus. The stems are dark green to reddish-purple with 4 to 5 ribs lined with clusters of spines. Each areole has 4 to 8 spines, with one longer and more central. The large, vibrant flowers are 15 cm in diameter.
