Description

Astrophytum myriostigma var. nudum is a spineless cactus with 5 prominent ribs; it can also only have 3 and up to 8 ribs. The green skin is smooth and glossy; therefore, it is named “nudum”, meaning “naked” or “bare” in Latin. The solitary stem starts out globular when young, becoming short-columnar with age. The daisy-like flowers have a sweet, jasmine-like scent.
