Gasteria

Gasterias are a type of succulent plant that are native to South Africa and the extreme southwest region of Namibia. These plants are easily identifiable by their thick, tough, fleshy leaves that resemble tongues. The leaves are arranged in two opposite ranks (distichous) or various distinctive spiral patterns. The inflorescence of Gasterias is also unique, with curved, stomach-shaped flowers that hang from inclined racemes.
