Euphorbia
Euphorbia is one of the largest and most diverse genera of flowering plants in the world, with approximately 2,000 species. These plants come in various forms such as flat, prostrate weeds commonly found in gardens, perennial herbs mainly from Europe, North America, and Asia, or majestic trees that are typical of the dry parts of eastern and southern Africa. The succulent species of Euphorbia are mostly found in Africa and Madagascar, where many species have prominent thorns or spines, resembling the cacti of North and South America, making them often confused with one another. The plant produces a milky latex when damaged, making it easily recognizable.
