Delosperma

This group of approximately 170 species of succulent plants was previously categorized under Mesembryanthemum in the Aizoaceae family. They are commonly found in southern and eastern Africa, with some species also present in Madagascar, Reunion island, Yemen, and Saudi Arabia. Like most Aizoaceae, Delosperma species have hygrochastic capsules that open and close as they become wet or dry.
