Echeveria elegans is a succulent with thick, fleshy, spoon-shaped leaves. The leaves are powdery, pale green to almost white. The tip of the leaves will develop a pink hue if grown in full sun or cool temperatures. The plant reproduces freely and spreads up to 30 cm, making it ideal for ground cover.
Leaves are crushed and applied as a poultice to soothe minor burns, bug bites, and skin irritations.
Used in traditional remedies to reduce swelling and treat headaches.
Chewing leaves or using crushed leaves as a gargle is sometimes practiced to relieve toothaches and mouth infections.
Applied to soften skin around foot corns.
